If there are other questions you may have, please give us a call at 503-975-4600!
  • Do you guarantee your work?

Absolutely! We stand behind ALL OUR WORK 100%.

  • How long does it take for my carpet to dry?

A typical residential carpet takes 6-8 hours to dry with good air circulation (open windows and turn on available fans). Thicker or shag carpets take 8-10 hours with good air circulation. Note: the key to carpet drying is air circulation/flow. If the weather does not permit opening of windows, place your furnace fan on “ON” to achieve   air circulation/flow. Remember: you can walk on the carpet immediately after cleaning!!

  • How long does it take to clean my carpets?

The typical appointment for a two man team takes between 1 hour and 20 minutes to 2 hours.

  • Can I walk on my carpet when it is wet?

Yes, you can walk on your carpet as much as you like. However, if you go outside, change your shoes at the door. Wet carpet is more susceptible to dirt.

  • What is the overall cleaning process?

You and our technician will perform a general inspection of the carpeted areas to be cleaned. The technician will point out any trouble areas he sees and may inquire as to their origin. He will also ask you to highlight any carpet issues you have. If he predetermines stains will not come out during the general cleaning process, then he will discuss with you what alternative processes will be needed. The technicians next step will be to pre-treat your carpet to loosen soluable soils from carpet fibers. The final step will be to use the hot water extraction process to remove soil/dirt from your carpets.

  • What do I need to do prior to my appointment?

We ask that all clients thoroughly vacuum their carpet prior to our arrival. If you choose to have us vacuum, we will gladly do so at a small additional fee. (Vacuuming is not included in general cleaning pricing so that we can pass that savings on to our customers.)

Move as much furniture as safely possible prior to your appointment.

Know your trouble areas so you can discuss them with your technician.

Leave plenty of space in the driveway for the carpet cleaning van and equipment.

  • Will Evergreen Carpet Cleaning move our furniture?

We move couches, chairs and coffee tables and other small items. We do not move large items such as beds, dressers or china cabinets.

  • Why are stairs not counted as an area?

Stairs require additional labor and are therefore priced separately.

  • How are your prices so much lower than Stanley Steamer or Service Master?

We are able to offer much lower prices than the large franchise companies due to lower overhead costs and the absence of franchise fees.

  • Is the elimination of pet issues (urine and defecation) a part of general cleaning?

No. Pet issues are not a part of general cleaning. This is an additional service we provide. Pricing is dependent on the severity of issues and the color of your carpet.

  • Do you clean Asian (wool) Rugs?

Yes. We have extensive experience with wool rugs. Pricing for rugs depends on many factors such as age, size, color and stains. Feel free to call us for a quote

  • I just spilled something or my pet just had an accident. What should I do?

The first step is not to allow the stain to dry. Clean up as much of the stain as possible by blotting with a white towel and warm water. The most important step is to prevent the stain from drying out by covering it with a wet white towel until you can seek professional help. If you decide to use any shelf products make sure they are recommended for carpet use.

  • Should I Scotchgard my carpets? How often?

Scotchgard helps your carpet repel spills, resist soiling and block stains. Over time, your carpets Scotchgard protection originally applied by the carpet manufacturer will wear away due to dirt and traffic. The more traffic and dirt, the faster it wears. In addition, each time your carpet is cleaned with a deep extraction machine, the protection is diminished considerably. We recommend having all your carpets deep cleaned at least annually, and reapplying Scotchgard Protector after each instance. Ask your Evergreen technician for pricing.

  • How long will my carpet last?

Pinpointing the life span of any carpet is virtually impossible. How long your carpet will last depends on several factors: carpet quality, foot traffic and maintenance. There are steps you can take to maximize the life and prformance of your carpet, however. Frequent vacuuming and regular deep cleaning performed by your carpet cleaning professional will help protect your investment and make any carpet look its best and last for years.

  • How often should I get my carpet cleaned?

The obvious answer is, whenever it needs it! For many homes, once a year might be sufficient and professional cleaning annually is recommended for all carpets. For homes with high foot traffic, children or pets, or for those located in areas with wetter climates, the minimum carpet cleaning frequency is twice a year.

  • I have a home carpet shampooer and I notice that a few days after I clean the stains come back. Why is this?

Home shampooers are only capable of cleaning surface level stains. Professional carpet cleaning is required to eliminate most stains that penetrate beyond your carpet's surface layer.
